#eiffeltower

Project : Hashtag Eiffel Tower

Location : Eiffel Tower, between the 1st and 2nd floor – Paris – France

This week, with Ken Sogawa, we are in Paris, on top of the Eiffel Tower.

We are now fully dependent on social networks. Whether we chat with friends, create this weekend’s event, post about our Monday morning mood, follow the news, build our professional network or share our passions, people hashtag, tag friends, request others, poke, like, signal misuses or block each other. We are increasingly categorizing our world. Each and every word refers to a person, a piece of news, a common theme… it’s the culture of information.

Our virtual life has taken over our real life. And our activity is endlessly growing.

1w1p:  we offer an ephemeral installation that lights up every time the hashtag regarding the building is it on is used.

Wikipedia

A hashtag is a word or a phrase prefixed with the symbol #. It is a form of metadata tag. Short messages on microblogging and social networking services such as Twitter, Facebook or Instagram may be tagged by putting “#” before important words,

The words “Eiffel Tower” are very present on social networks, and we have chosen to “transplant” our installation in the manner of a human heart, between the first and second floor.
